The campus of theWalnut School has been designed to be accessible and safe. The movement of children and accessibility has been the primary focus while designing rooms. The rooms have been designed appropriately for KG, and primary. We take care to make sure that children in our kindergarten program don’t have to move much between floors, as the time taken for this movement is always prolonged in the younger years.
The rooms are well-lit and the colours are very soothing. Since we have lab-based rooms, each room has been customized according to the subject which is going to be taught there. That makes each room get an individual character. Since the number of students in each class is limited, the rooms are cosy and spacious at the same time. At the Walnut school, learning is discussion and activity based. When you see our classrooms, you will realize that they are out of the box. Benches are flipped, some have bean stools, while some have sponge mattresses. All this makes the children look forward to changing the room after every period.
Large racks line each classroom, to hold various sheets, flashcards and equipment pertaining to that class. This lets the teacher pick things according to a pre-set plan, and encourages children to clean up and put things back in place. Needless to say, the room looks very attractive with so many things kept in the racks!
For achieving their goals in later life, students need to have the physical strength and the mental strength to accept defeat or failure. Sports is where these qualities are imbibed and strengthened. In the Walnut school, we have planned a regular and systematic exposure to sports and related activities.
There are dedicated spaces for these activities and a limited number of students use these spaces at any given time.
Providing safe and reliable transport is a dire need of today. At the Walnut school, we are very concerned with the safety of our students, and plan to provide transport equipped with technology to track vehicles and get updates on pick up and drop off times.
To know more, do visit our school office to find out the areas covered. Please note that the transport service is entirely optional.
Just like all the other activities, regular healthy snacks are a necessity for every growing child. At the Walnut School Pune, we realize that and have made a schedule for snacks to be provided in the recess. We have a caterer who can provide these snacks, or the parents can send these with their ward. Choosing the caterer is entirely optional.
Here is a list of the snacks:
